In this excerpt from Rolling Stone Canada’s conversation with Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, interviewer Brian Hiatt asks Geddy about rebuilding his upper vocal range for Rush’s Fifty Something Tour. Geddy describes our work together after 11 years away from singing: strengthening his voice, approaching high notes with more efficient breathing and technique, and deciding which Rush songs to perform in their original keys. Brian’s thoughtful, detailed questions bring out the work behind Rush’s return to the stage. My thanks to Brian and Rolling Stone Canada for this conversation.
