One of the most talked about subjects about the return of RUSH to the stages is the voice of Geddy Lee. Would he be able to return in style after 11 years away from the stages?! The answer is yes, it succeeded, a probably unanimous opinion, which is due a lot to the teacher and vocal coach – Mitch Seekins.
Mitch Seekins sang professionally for 37 years and performed in the genres Pop, Rock, R&B, Jazz and Opera in Canada, the United States and Europe. He began teaching vocal technique in 1990 after five years of intensive vocal study. While teaching and maintaining an active professional career as a singer, he continued his vocal studies until he developed his own vocal technique. That chat lasted nearly an hour, with behind-the-scenes stories of Mitch re-teaching and teaching Geddy Lee in-depth vocal techniques. We thank Rodrigo Altaf for the Sonic Perspectives channel – a Brazilian Rush super fan living in Toronto.
